Elviria, East of Marbella
For many, Elviria, to the east of Marbella, is the perfect place to live or holiday. It is home to a huge variety of different property types, including luxurious villas hidden by cork oaks, tranquil hilltop apartments, cosmopolitan beachside townhouses and so much more in between. There certainly is something for everyone amid the dunes and undulating hills east of Marbella.
But where Elviria really shines is with its vast range of amenities, catering to both residents and tourists. There are restaurants to suit every budget and taste, both within the main commercial centre and on the streets that wind from the mountains to the beach. Some of the best known include The Beach House and The Playwright.
No visit to Elviria would be complete without a beach club experience. The Don Carlos Beach Club and Nikki Beach are beautiful escapes from reality where the champagne and cocktails flow, the cool music plays and the crowd mingles and shimmies between the pools and the beach. The sandy beaches around Elviria are among the best on the Costa del Sol— perfect for relaxing with a good book under a parasol (or keeping an eye on the kids as they run wild). The beaches also offer watersports like kite surfing for beginners, windsurfing and riding the waves on inflatables.
Of course at a practical level, there are also banks, offices, supermarkets, hairdressers and other local businesses all situated very nearby. EIC, or the English International College, is located just around the corner and often receives awards and accolades for its success in preparing children to study at university or enter the world of work. The highly respected Colegio Alborán is another very popular choice, especially among those wanting their children to excel in the Spanish language.
The sports facilities in the area are second to none. The Royal Tennis Club Marbella has outstanding tennis and padel courts all surrounding a delightful bar and restaurant. Since the club is a favourite with kids at the weekend, why not visit during the week so you can take your time in peace. Golfers will enjoy a round at Santa María Golf, one of the coast’s most established golf courses, while the family visit the clubhouse and admire the stunning views out across the greens and fairways.
Elviria is a firm favourite with many residents and return visitors to the Costa del Sol. It appeals to both young and old (and just about everyone in between) thanks to the incredible diversity of activities, amenities and property on offer. If you’re looking for gourmet restaurants, a buzzing café scene, incredible views, challenging sports facilities or proximity to the beach, this part of Marbella has it all.
